Mid-autumn Festival For Disadvantaged Children

In order to share care and love to disadvantaged children including children with disabilities and Seedling mentees, two parties named “Laguna, sharing the full moon joy with you” were held on 10th September 2019 at Nuoc Ngot Social Protection Center and on 12th September 2019 at Laguna Lang Co to celebrate the Mid-autumn festival with these children. The events are part of a series of activities to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Banyan Tree. Interactive games between associates and the children, moon cakes, candies and stories created a happy and warm atmosphere for 63 associates, 17 Seedlings mentees, 65 children and 10 nuns from Nuoc Ngot Social Protection Centre.

BUY LOCALLY SOURCED MUSHROOMS

Every month, we purchase oyster mushrooms from the mushroom grower at the Nuoc Ngot Social Protection Centre. This helps support local production facilities and create a stable source of income for them to raise disabled children.
However, due to the scale of production, the quantity of their oyster mushrooms only meets about 30% of the total amount of oyster mushrooms we consume.

WORLD TOURISM DAY & MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL 2023

Responding to World Tourism Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival 2023, we visited and gave gifts to nearly 100 disabled children and staff at the Nuoc Ngot Social Protection Center. Our associates and guests experience interesting games with children here.
The lion team performed by the housekeeping department, besides performing lion dances to raise funds for charity activities they themselves organize.

MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL FOR DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN 2019

Date: 21 April 2019
Location: Loc Vinh Secondary School

To celebrate Earth Day, we collaborated with Loc Vinh Secondary School to hold a clean-up campaign and a knowledge competition among students about species conservation. Through funny quizzes and interactive games, students showed up their knowledge about various topics including the history of Earth Day, the importance of species and ecosystem conservation and waste separation.  They also had chance to express their own opinions about current environmental problems and solutions to these problems through sticky note trees. At the end of the event, 170 students and teachers of the school signed up for a commitment to protect wildlife and biodiversity.

Binh An School Project

Binh An School is the only primary school in Loc Vinh commune, a poor coastal area of Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue Province, Vietnam. With only 11 classrooms, no library and over 740 students aged between 6 and 11, Binh An School did not have sufficient facilities for students as requested by the national standard, resulting in a high number of students in each class, around 35 – 41 students per class. In addition, the school had been forced to shorten lesson times so that two classes could share one room in a day. In a hope to bring a better educational environment to local students, Banyan Tree Global Foundation (BTGF) funded 1.55 billion VND (equivalent to US$ 67,896) for the construction of two additional classrooms (56m2) and a library (112m2) at Binh An Primary School in 2019. After 26 years of operation, for the very first time, Binh An school has enough classrooms for all students and “dream has come true” as shared by Mr. Tran Xuan Tu, the school Head Master.
