At the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards 2026 ceremony on 15 September at Grand Plaza Hanoi, Laguna Golf Lang Co received two honours: Best Coastal Golf Course and Top 10 Golf Courses in Vietnam.
Established in 2007, the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards has now reached its 12th edition. The annual awards recognise outstanding golf courses, destinations and services across Vietnam’s golf and golf tourism sector.
In 2026, the programme presented 56 awards across 47 categories. Of these, 32 categories focused on golf courses. The organisers used several sources to assess the nominees. These included community voting, on-site surveys and judging panel evaluations in July 2026.The judging panel brought together Vietnamese and international experts. It also included representatives from regulatory authorities and international organisations. Moreover, the assessment covered a range of technical criteria. These included turf quality, green speed and maintenance consistency. The panel also considered hole strategy, operational capabilities and caddie services.
The two honours highlight both the destination’s character and the overall golf experience. The Best Coastal Golf Course award recognises the course’s location and landscape. Meanwhile, the Top 10 Golf Course in Vietnam recognition reflects a broader assessment of course quality and operations.
Located in Chan May – Lang Co, Hue, the 18-hole golf course designed by Sir Nick Faldo sits between the Truong Son Mountains and the East Sea. The course integrates the surrounding landscape into its layout. Native forest, traditional rice fields and coastal sand dunes form part of the playing environment. In addition, the changing terrain creates strategic challenges throughout the round. Coastal winds also influence shot selection and playing strategy. At the same time, the surrounding landscape adds a strong visual dimension to the golfer experience.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, said: “Golf is a high-value tourism product that can connect golf courses with accommodation, resorts, transportation, dining, wellness and cultural experiences. Developing an integrated golf tourism ecosystem will become a driving force in attracting high-end international visitors.”
This perspective highlights how a golf destination is increasingly assessed beyond its 18 holes. The ability to connect golf with surrounding services and experiences is also becoming an important part of the overall destination offering.
In this context, Laguna Golf Lang Co is part of the Laguna Lang Co integrated resort. This setting allows golfers to combine their time on the course with accommodation, dining, spa treatments and experiences exploring Lang Co and Hue.

The two honours recognise the values Laguna Golf Lang Co has built through course quality, natural landscapes and the golfer experience.
