Faldo Series Asia Grand Final 2026: The Race is On

On April 20, Laguna Golf Lăng Cô took center stage in the region’s junior golf scene, welcoming more than 60 young athletes competing in the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final 2026. The occasion marked the opening of a series of pre-tournament activities ahead of the official competition, scheduled from April 22 to 24.

From early morning, registration and check-in were conducted with efficiency and professionalism. This year’s finalists represent the very best emerging talents, having advanced through highly competitive qualifiers held in leading golf nations such as South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand.

Following registration, players headed out for their first practice rounds, familiarizing themselves with the course at Laguna Golf Lang Co. These sessions were not only crucial for adapting to course conditions and local weather, but also for fine-tuning strategies before the tournament officially begins.

In the evening, a Welcome Dinner was held at Angsana Lang Co, offering a warm and vibrant setting for young golfers from diverse cultural backgrounds to connect and exchange experiences ahead of the competition.

Mr. Gavin Herholdt delivers his remarks at the Welcome Dinner

Speaking at the event, Mr. Gavin Herholdt, Managing Director of Laguna Lăng Cô shared:

“It is truly a pleasure to welcome such promising young talents from across the region to Laguna Lăng Cô. This marks our 10th year partnering with the Faldo Series, and our mission has always been to support the growth of golf across Asia. Witnessing the remarkable progress of Vietnamese players alongside the passion of international competitors, I believe the sport is entering an exciting new era. We have worked hard to deliver a championship course that is both fair and challenging, and we hope each player enjoys a memorable tournament week.”

Matthew Faldo highlighted that this year’s course presents a true test, allowing players to showcase their character and skill

From the organizers’ side, Mr. Matthew Faldo, Director of the Faldo Series, also offered his encouragement:

“This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate 30 years of the Faldo Series and a decade-long partnership with Laguna Lăng Cô. We greatly appreciate the dedication and preparation demonstrated by the team here. After reviewing the course, we decided to move several tee positions further back to increase the level of challenge, turning this year’s layout into a true test of skill and character. With Vietnamese players having claimed the title for the past three consecutive years, it will be exciting to see whether the trophy stays with the home nation or goes to an international contender. Wishing all players a successful and inspiring week ahead.”

According to the schedule, the first round will tee off on the morning of April 22. The tournament will continue to follow a 54-hole stroke play format over three rounds, determining the overall champion as well as top performers across different age divisions.
