On the evening of November 29, the Department of Tourism, in coordination with relevant units, organized a welcoming ceremony for the first flight and passengers traveling by air from Shenzhen (China) to Hue City. Attending the program was Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Member of the City Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee.
Flight DZ6355, operated by Donghai Airlines as a chartered flight (charter) from Shenzhen (China) to Hue City, landed at Phu Bai International Airport at 8:10 PM, carrying 120 passengers.
All passengers on the flight were welcomed by the leadership of the City People’s Committee, Department of Tourism, Department of Foreign Affairs, City Police, Hue Monuments Conservation Centre, Tourism Association, Phu Bai International Airport Authority, Central Region Airport Authority at Phu Bai International Airport, and other relevant units. They were presented with flowers and commemorative gifts, along with a performance of Hue Royal Court Music and a lively unicorn-lion-dragon dance to celebrate the arrival.
According to the plan of Donghai Airlines, the carrier will continue to operate flights to/from Phu Bai International Airport in November 2025 and December 2025. This is a positive sign for the efforts to expand international flight routes to Phu Bai International Airport after Terminal T2 was put into operation in Hue City.
The welcoming ceremony for the first flight from Shenzhen (China) to Hue City at Phu Bai International Airport is an activity aimed at contributing to spreading the image of Hue as a destination, its culture, and its people, while also boosting communication and promotion of Hue City’s tourism products and services to attract tourists as an attractive, safe, and friendly destination for both domestic and international visitors. This activity also aims to foster cooperative relations between the Hue City People’s Committee and Donghai Airlines, along with other related units, contributing to the overall economic development of the city and the tourism sector in Hue in particular.
In the first 11 months of 2025, the number of visitors to Hue is estimated to have reached over 5.8 million, an increase of 65.3% compared to the same period last year; of which international visitors are estimated at nearly 1.8 million, up 40.9% compared to the same period last year. Overnight visitors are estimated to have reached over 2.2 million, up 19.1% compared to the same period last year. Revenue from tourism is estimated at nearly 11,750 billion VND, up 62.7% compared to the same period last year. Specifically, Chinese visitors accounted for 18,199 arrivals, ranking 12th in the tourist market to Hue.
