Free entrance to attractions under the management of Hue Monuments Conservation Center on August 19 and September 2

The Hue Monuments Conservation Center will offer free entry to Vietnamese citizens on August 19 and National Day September 2

Hue City – The Hue Monuments Conservation Center will offer free entry to Vietnamese citizens on August 19 and September 2, in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

According to the Center, free admission on these two days will be available from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Visitors are required to present their national ID card to enter sites such as the Imperial City, the tombs of Emperors Tu Duc, Khai Dinh, and Minh Mang, the Museum of Royal Antiquities, An Dinh Palace, Hon Chen Temple, and others.

On regular days, ticket prices at these heritage sites managed by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center range from 50,000 to 200,000 VND for adults. Children aged 7–12 are generally admitted free of charge, except at the Imperial City (40,000 VND) and the tombs of Emperors Khai Dinh, Minh Mang, and Tu Duc (30,000 VND).

Starting January 1, 2025, under new regulations issued by Hue City People’s Committee, Vietnamese citizens will be granted free admission to monuments on four occasions: Lunar New Year’s Day, Hue Liberation Day (March 26), National Day (September 2), and Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23). This year marks the first time that free admission is extended on August 19, the day commemorating the August Revolution.

In the first half of this year, Hue welcomed approximately 3.33 million visitors, a 71% increase compared to the same period last year. Among them, international arrivals reached about 1.16 million, up 42%. Tourism revenue was estimated at nearly VND 6.4 trillion, an increase of 59%. The number of overnight stays also rose by nearly 11%, with more than 383,000 international overnight visitors.
