It has been 17 years since the tournament expanded to Asia, and the past champions of the Faldo Series Asia have made significant marks regionally and on the world golf stage. Many have continued to succeed, showcasing the importance of the Faldo Series Asia as a solid foundation for the future. For instance, Rashid Khan (the 2nd and 3rd Faldo Series Asia champion) topped the Rolex Rankings in 2013 to win “The PGTI’s Rolex Player of the Year,” became the first Indian to win the Sri Lanka Open 2016 in Colombo, and ascended to the world ranking of 176th, positioning himself as India’s prime candidate for a spot at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Additionally, female golfers have also excelled; Suzuka Yamaguchi (the 12th Faldo Series Asia champions) became the first Japanese woman to win the 2018 Australian Amateur Championship and secured a spot on the LPGA Tour in 2020, finishing 16th in the LPGA Q-Series 2019 rankings.

Sir Nick Faldo, founder of the Faldo Series, stated: “I can’t wait any longer to return to Central Vietnam to witness the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, promising intense competitions. Laguna Lăng Cô golf course always delivers exciting performances, and I eagerly welcome all golfers back to such a memorable event!”

Our global award-winning Par 71 course, Laguna Golf Lăng Cô proudly known as “Sir Nick Faldo’s Signature Design,” presents unique challenges for golfers at every level. It also offers an opportunity for them to learn and refine their skills through training sessions with Sir Nick Faldo at Laguna, while experiencing top-tier accommodation services at the resort, including the seaside Banyan Tree Lăng Cô Hill Villas, Angsana Lăng Cô Hotel, and Laguna Parkside Lăng Cô, all of which have been honored by Conde Nast.

Our continued role as the host venue for the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final underscores our commitment to fostering junior golf in Vietnam and across Asia.”

As part of the Faldo Series Asia journey and Banyan Group’s commitment to supporting the local community in development, our Director of Golf recently embarked on a 10-week journey coaching over 30 students from Loc Vinh school on the life benefits of golf, its values, and the event taking place on their doorstep introducing Sir Nick Faldo.

Hosting the annual Faldo Series Asia Grand Final is a much-anticipated event, drawing numerous golfers from across Asia to compete. We are proud to contribute to the development of global young golfing talents. The Faldo Series aims to help reach more juniors worldwide by introducing them to the game through grassroots initiatives and helping them develop the skills and attitude needed to become a professional golfer. Sir Nick Faldo often attends many of the Faldo Series events and plays a part in watching many of the juniors in action while providing professional guidance for both the physical and mental demands of the game.

The year 2023 marked a historical milestone when Nguyễn Anh Minh became the first Vietnamese golfer to win the prestigious Faldo Series Asia Grand Final. With his success last year, will the young Vietnamese golfers under the guidance of Coach Bạch Cường Khang, continue the success and create new surprises in this year’s tournament?

We sincerely invite you to attend to support the tournament and witness the growth and shine of young Asian golf talents at the Faldo Series Asia 2024.
