ĐNO – On the evening of 2 June, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with Emirates Airline, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT), and other relevant stakeholders, hosted a welcoming ceremony for the inaugural Emirates flight EK370 from Dubai to Da Nang, via a transit in Bangkok, Thailand.

Accordingly, Emirates’ operation of the route to Da Nang has connected the city with more than 140 of the airline’s global destinations, including potential markets such as the Middle East, Europe, North America, and Africa.

This air route not only promotes tourism development but also expands opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, and economic and cultural exchange, contributing to the global promotion of Da Nang with the message “Discover the stories of Danang.”

This is the first flight in Emirates’ regular operational plan for the Dubai – Bangkok (Thailand) – Da Nang route, with a frequency of four flights per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Concurrently, at the international arrivals terminal, Da Nang International Airport also held a ceremony to welcome the first passengers on the inaugural flight from Dubai.

Immediately after landing, the aircraft was greeted with a water cannon salute. Passengers enjoyed a traditional arts performance and were presented with flowers and souvenirs as a warm welcome, demonstrating hospitality and contributing to the promotion of Da Nang as a “Safe, friendly, and attractive destination.”

At the same time, it will bring newer yet high-potential markets such as the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas closer to the beauty, culture, and tourism potential of Da Nang in general, and the large-scale tourism, resort, and entertainment ecosystem that Sun Group has been and is creating in Da Nang in particular.

Mr Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales and Country Management, stated that the launch of this route is an important step in Emirates’ growth strategy in Southeast Asia, as well as reinforcing their commitment to providing seamless connectivity to support Vietnam’s long-term trade and tourism goals.

“With Da Nang’s unique combination of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and growing economic potential, the airline is proud to offer world-class products and services connecting Da Nang (Vietnam) with Dubai and Bangkok. We are confident in Da Nang’s growing appeal and look forward to connecting travellers and businesses to this unique destination,” shared Mr Nabil Sultan.
