Date: 30^th March 2019 – Laguna Lang Co

Laguna Lang Co CSR team, in collaboration with Food &Beverage and Engineering Department held several activities to celebrate Earth Hour and raise awareness about climate change among hotel guests and associates.

For hotel guests:

• Turn off unnecessary devices and lights from 08:30PM to 09:30PM
• Join Seedling Street night at Central Lawn or Earth Hour Candle light dinner with handwriting menu

For associates:

• Turn off lighting and air-condition in the offices (if possible)
• Participate in Candle decoration of Earth 60+

Achievements:

We engaged 137 guests, 60 associates and saved 136.176 kWh just within one hour

Date: 9th - 24th March 2018 - Laguna Lăng Cô

In conjunction with the annual global climate action event Earth Hour, the Laguna Lang Co CSR team will continue supporting Earth Hour 2018 to increase the awareness of climate change, and enhance the actions and efforts for energy conservation.

For hotel guests:

• Turn off unnecessary devices and lights, especially from 09:00AM – 10:00 AM and 08:30PM – 09:30PM
• Join in the special candlelit dinner that utilises no electricity at Angsana Central Lawn from 6:00 -9:00PM

For associates:

With the theme: “Be a change maker- use your power”, the campaign this year will be extended to a series of three challenges that encourage the power of knowledge, creativity and speaking out from all Laguna Lang Co staff to help make a difference.

Date: 24th & 26th March 2017 - Laguna Lăng Cô

In 2017, Laguna Lăng Cô continue celebrating Earth Hour by carrying out some initiatives on 24-26th Mar, from 9:30 - 10:30 AM

For hotel guests:

• Turn off non-essential lighting in certain areas from 8:30pm to 9:30pm on 25th March
• Join a special dinner that utilizes no electricity at Angsana Central Lawn from 6pm.

For associates:

• Meeting in the dark - working in the dark (using natural light instead of light bulbs)
• Join fun CSR quiz to raise awareness and understanding of Earth Hour and energy conservation
• Turn off lighting and air-condition in the offices (if possible)
• Implement/ practice conserving tips which are already displayed in published places

Achievements:

• Enthusiasm participants from all departments during Earth Hour
• 70 in-house guests joined the candlelit dinner
• Earth Hour campaign saved 5500kwh (equal to 566 USD) from electricity for whole Laguna Lăng Cô complex

Date: 18th & 19th March 2016 - Laguna Lăng Cô

In 2016, Laguna lăng Cô encouraged hotel guests to turn off non-essential lighting and participate in special fire-lit BBQ dinner with no electricity organized in the evening. 

In addition, associates were motivated to save energy by conducting meetings in sunlit open area instead of indoor, and by following the energy saving tips posted around office and back-of-house areas.

Achievements:

• Associates from all departments participated in the activities and 77 in-house guests joined the candlelit BBQ dinner.
• 4950kwh (equal to US$544) of electricity was saved.

Date: 27th – 29th March 2015 - Laguna Lăng Cô 

Hotels’ guests were encouraged to join in this meaningful event by turning off non-essential lighting in certain areas from 8:30pm to 9:30pm on 28th March – the main day of Earth Hour. There was also a special fire-lit dinner with no electricity organized at Moomba Upper Deck for guests in the evening. 

Besides, associates were motivated to try to save as much electricity and water as possible between 27th and 29th March by following the tips posted around office and back-of-house areas.
