Laguna Lăng Cô Hosts 2nd-Silent World-Exhibition For Local Disabled Young Artists
Thua Thien Hue, Vietnam, 5 May 2016 – Laguna Lăng Cô officially opened the second art exhibition “Silent World” for deaf and disabled local young artists from 5th May to 5th June, 2016 at Angsana Lăng Cô’s hotel lobby. The exhibition will showcase over 100 acrylic paintings, torn paper artwork, calligraphy, and handicraft by 31 deaf and disabled children and young adults from Danang Social Work Centre and Nuoc Ngot Social Centre in Phu Loc district.
All artworks are available for purchase (as pay-as-you-wish) to encourage disabled young adults to develop their art talents and reach out to the world. All proceeds from the exhibition will go to a fund for the development and operation of local social centres for hearing-impaired and disabled children. Guests can also show their support by visiting the exhibition and leaving a message in the logbook to encourage the young artists.
“Silent World” was first organised in Laguna Lăng Cô in 2015 with 80 paintings and calligraphy artworks, contributing 18 million VND to Danang Deaf Club in one month of display at Angsana Lăng Cô hotel lobby. After the success of the event, the 2016 exhibition has been expanded in number of artwork, participants, as well as diversity of content.

A portion of artworks from the young artists will continue to be displayed at Laguna Lăng Cô after the exhibition to provide the chance for tourists to reach out to local social centres. Laguna Lăng Cô will also start organising art classes for local young students in summer 2016 together with the company’s long-running English classes in Phu Loc’s elementary schools.
