“This event was an amazing opportunity to promote Central Vietnam as an ideal holiday and race destination with stunning nature along the breathtaking coastline, where the world-class Banyan Tree and Angsana Lăng Cô hotels are situated with the Laguna Lăng Cô resort” said Mr. Michal Zitek – Area General Manager of Banyan Tree and Angsana Lăng Cô.

The courses went through the idyllic Hue countryside around Laguna Lăng Cô resort, the 2 hotels Banyan Tree and Angsana Lăng Cô, as well as Laguna Lăng Cô’s world-class golf course, designed by Sir Nick Faldo himself.

“It’s wonderful to see hundreds of Vietnamese and international runners get together in the exciting atmosphere of these two days. We hope the Laguna Lăng Cô Marathon could continue in the successful steps of its sister the 10-year-old Laguna Phuket Marathon,” said Mr. Serge Ditesheim – Hotel Manager of Angsana Lăng Cô and Race Director.

As well as bringing a burst of excitement to beautiful Lăng Cô, this year’s event is also helping Banyan Tree Group continue its prominent role to work with the local community. The 5KM community run was renamed Run For Water – with all its proceeds going to to support Laguna Lăng Cô’s School Water Project. This is a long-running 3-year project with the aim to supply clean water filtration systems for local schools in Phu Loc district around the resort. Events such as the Laguna Lăng Cô Marathon provide a superb platform to profile and support organisations making a real difference in saving and improving lives in Central Vietnam.
