Understanding the Heart Fund 2018 Tournament

Another prestigious golf tournament hosted at Laguna Lăng Cô

Lang Co, Thua Thien-Hue, September 10, 2018 – The world-class integrated resort Laguna Lăng Cô recently joined with Hieu ve trai tim (Understanding the Heart Fund) and the Vietnam Golf Association to host the Swing for the Heart 2018 golf tournament. The event saw nearly 130 golfers compete on the resort’s 18-hole champion course which was named “The Best Golf Resort in Asia” for two consecutive years.

Swing for the Heart 2018 attracted many famous golfers and celebrities including actor Chi Bao, actress Truong Ngoc Anh, MC Thuy Hanh and her husband the musician Minh Khang, and former supermodel Thuy Hang, among others. All the proceeds from the golf tournament and the VND1.4 billion raised from the event’s charity auction goes directly to the fund to help pay for heart surgeries for poor children in Central Vietnam.

Golfer Ha Ngoc Hoang Loc, from the central coast city of Danang, was the winner of Swing for the Heart 2018. He previously won the Mercedes Trophy which also took place at Laguna Golf Lăng Cô in June.

Located in the world-class integrated Laguna Lăng Cô resort, the 18-hole, par-71 championship course was designed by six-time Major winner, Sir Nick Faldo. Harnessing the stunning natural environment of Lăng Cô, Faldo designed an engaging course which weaves between trees, natural streams, over rice paddies and through impressive rock features to create a diverse and unique golfing experience. The award-winning course can be enjoyed by the most experienced player and beginner alike, measuring just under 7,100 yards from the championship tees and a beginner friendly 5,263 yards from the front tees.

Named as Asia’s Best Golf Resort in 2018 by Golf Digest, Laguna Lăng Cô has been a popular destination for major events. With its world-class facilities, Laguna Golf Lăng Cô has been a regular venue for local and international golf tournaments, including the Faldo Series Asia Grand Finals, Club Championship, Cobra Puma Pro Am Weekend, Banyan Tree Belt and Mercedes Trophy 2018. It has also played host to many unique events and activities, including when Laguna Golf Lăng Cô was turned into a special catwalk to host the Spring-Summer 2018 collection of Vietnamese designer Do Manh Cuong in May.

As part of the integrated resort, the golf course is located next to the luxury Banyan Tree Hotel and its award-winning spas and the sea-front Angsana Lăng Cô Hotel and the Laguna Park Lăng Cô townhouses which lie along the 18th hole of the course.
